ABOUT WWTAG

Wainfleet Wind Turbine Action Group are a group of local residents greatly concerned about the wind farm proposed for land north of Fen Bank / Fodder Dike on the northern edge of the parish of Friskney. The proposed Wainfleet wind farm is only just inside the Parish of Wainfleet and in reality the most affected areas are Friskney, New Leake, Eastville and Midville. The group, WWTAG, began with members from both Friskney and Wainfleet St. Mary, but now includes many more supporters from the surrounding area.

THE PROPOSAL

RWE Npower renewables have put forward a proposal to develop a windfarm  consisting of four wind turbines 127m (416ft) high to the rotor tips and a permanent 80m high anemometer. The wind turbines will be about 46m (153ft)  taller than The Stump and well over twice the height of the Pilgrim Hospital. These will be visible for miles around industrialising the landscape. If planning is granted for these four turbines, more are sure to follow.  They have development options on land to the south of Fen Bank and on large areas of land to the north of New Leake, Eastville and Midville. They could be next! the map page.

A Thank You from WWTAG

Thank you for your letters of objection against RWE Npower’s proposed wind farm and their application for a variation of “Condition 4” to remove the requirement to fit bird deflectors to all of the supporting guy wires and only fit them on the outer guy wires on their anemometer, situated on land near to Fen Bank at Friskney.

The planning process for the windfarm has been put on hold but has not gone away.  We expect it to be reinstated in the near future and will need your continued support.
